We received a notice from Central Hudson that the power in our neighborhood would be out from 8:30am until 4:30pm, on Tuesday, due to equipment updates in our area. Sitting home with no electric is boring (and hot!), so we took a little road trip. We drove to Pine Bush via Ellenville and Route 52, to visit the Quilting Attic quilt shop. After shopping there, we had lunch in the Cup and Saucer diner, then took a different, longer route home, through Wallkill and New Paltz and up 9W to Kingston. We ran a few errands, then headed home. The power was back on, the house was cool, and we’d had a lovely day, but any day that includes ice cream is lovely.
I took the picture at a pull-off on Route 52, looking south. Notice the haze from the humidity.
Sounds like a good way to spend a hot day with no electric!
