Wes, Corey, Daisy, Desi, Natasha, Andrew, and I hiked at the Arboretum in Tannersville on Sunday. It was perfect weather–sunny and warm with a little breeze to blow the bugs away. We took the downhill trail to the marsh and walked out onto the observation pier. Wes and Corey had their binoculars, but didn’t see much besides a calling red tailed hawk.
The kids picked a few tiny wild blueberries.
Ferns in sun and shadows– ar least they held still for a picture.
While running through the woods, the kids made up a live video game complete with levels and a dad/uncle/monster they had to defeat to level up. Andrew is getting his shot in at the monster.
I’m a sucker for anything heart shaped.
We had packed a picnic lunch. The breeze was cool so the kids and Daisy ate while sitting in the sun.
After lunch the kids walked around the pond looking for frogs and, surprisingly, no one fell in. We finished off our adventure with a stop for ice cream in Tannersville. After all, video game warriors have to be rewarded for defeating the monster and leveling up.
