Jessica came over on Wednesday morning and we went right to work baking cookies. I had spent and hour and a half  before she came making four different doughs and getting that part of the mess cleaned up

Jessie’s favorite Christmas cookies are the reindeer ones .  It’s fun decorating them and seeing the cookie personalities develop. The other ones are peanut butter blossoms, another family favorite (especially Natasha)Of course, our family doesn’t have any gathering without chocolate chip cookies. The last cookie of the day was Secret Kiss, a buttery nut ball with a kiss hidden inside and rolled in powdered sugar.

We still had time, and energy left, so we also made two batches of peanut butter fudge and one of chocolate walnut, using a recipe from Wes’s sister Lois from many years ago.

Tomorrow, we’ll be back at it making candy.
