Wes and I took a ride yesterday afternoon looking for pussy willows.  We drove slowly past the Vly, but where the pussy willows used to grow very close to the road, it’s now all common reeds and the water is much deeper, not swamp like it used to be. We ended up on Mike Kraut Road and found several pussy willow bushes. I was very glad I brought my Wellies along. It was swampy and mucky and I was so afraid of falling on my butt, especially when I was holding my camera.

After clipping a couple branches, I found some lying on the ground that someone else had cut and discarded. They were perfectly fine, so they came home with me and I cut less.

Pussy willows make me happy.

  1. Love pussy willows! Always used to pick them on the Woodstock- West Saugerties Road for my moms birthday on March 23rd. She loved them too.
