Part of my excitement for spring is shopping in yard sales. So, when I saw a couple ads in the Friday’s Freeman, I made note to try and visit them. Am I glad I did! The couple at the first yard sale had bought the contents of a store that was closing in the Galleria in Poughkeepsie. They had quite a bit of stuff left (I think this may not have been their first yard sale) and I happily dug through all new, still packaged, merchandise to find new lace curtains for my guest room. The original price was almost $70, according to the stickers on the packages, and I paid $6! I plan on putting this quilt in the guest room, so these new curtains are perfect. At the same yard sale I found this pottery goblet, also new, that just spoke to me. It will either be used for my dessert yogurt at night or as a planter for a succulent, unless I think of something else.
At a different yard sale, I found measuring spoons for $.50. For some oddball reason, I like measuring spoons and I had never seen a set like this.
I wonder what next weekend will bring…….
