On Sunday, Cathy, Grace and I drove to the Shenandoah High School in Clifton Park to a quilt show. It was the first time for Cathy and me, but Grace had been to this quilt show before when it was at a different venue. The quilts were amazing! We stood in front of this one for at least ten minutes looking at the beautiful workmanship and examining the different techniques the quilter used. This quilt is called Labyrinth and I have this pattern to make someday. After seeing this one, I want to get working in it right away.
This is an old block called Broken Wheel proving that whatever is old can be made fresh and new again.
Tiny square in a square blocks make a big impact when sewn all together.
Another quilt we spent a few minutes looking closely at to figure out how it was constructed. The picture doesn’t do this on justice. In person, it was gorgeous!
The geese are wool and were added after the quilt was totally completed making the geese “come forward” and look 3 dimensional.
Stay tuned. More tomorrow.
