Wes and I spent several hours on Wednesday morning raking, raking, raking the backyard. Over the winter, the wind blows and packs leaves around the perimeter of the pool where they start to disintegrate into a smelly, nasty mess. Wes wielded the rake while I picked up many wheelbarrow loads to dump into the woods. We found two toads and many violets in the yard. The violets made maneuvering the wheelbarrow difficult, as I didn’t want to squash them, and I ended up walking farther each time.  But, beauty, especially purple beauty,  is worth preserving.

  2. So pretty! I love how my lawn is full of those and, of course, dandelions, which I also love!
