Yesterday morning, my walking buddy was not feeling well so I headed out on my own. I haven’t walked alone in a long time, and while I missed Leslie, I did enjoy taking a different route and the freedom to stop as often as I wanted to snap pictures. This is the bridge over the Plattekill on West Saugerties Road. Notice the railing shadow. This is the other side of the road looking downstream. The water was quite a bit higher over the weekend, but has settled down to normal.
On Van Buskirk Road, I found bloodroot blooming in the sunshine.
Bloodroot wilts fast, so I just admire and leave it growing.
As I was walking the home stretch, I saw a tiny maple tree with lots of new growth. With ambition like this, it will be 6 feet high by the end of summer.
This is a baby pine tree with aspirations also. Located where it is, it may just make it to be a grown up tree.
This walk was with closed mouth and open eyes, always a good thing.
