Yesterday, I slogged through the horribly humid air for my walk by myself. Being it was supposed to be raining yesterday morning, we decided to cancel our walk. I turned off my alarm and so didn’t hear the text messages coming through on my phone (which was downstairs anyway) from my walking buddies that they wanted to go as the rain had not materialized. Walking alone gave me ample opportunity to snap some of the roadside flowers that made the walk bearable.
I do enjoy walking by myself, but yesterday seemed like it took 3 hours instead of one.
Chicory in the shade
and chicory in the sunlight are totally different colors.
Today, I’ll be back out with my companions.
Wild flowers are very pretty. When I was a child making mud pies I decorated them with chicory because it was readily available.
