Lately, I haven’t been a late sleeper and by late, I mean 7:30. For the past month of so, I’ve been waking at 5 or 5:30. Some mornings I snuggle and try very hard to go back to sleep. Some mornings, I give up and get up. My sewing machine is always happy to see me, no matter what time it is. When sleeping in a strange bed, I always wake up early too, and yesterday morning was no different, but no snuggling for me. There was a whole new neighborhood to explore on foot. Leaving Wes still snuggled, I dressed quickly and headed out. The first picture is a footbridge over the lake in front of our inn. I walked totally around the lake and took the picture of the inn from the other side.
The third picture is a cedar tree, probably misshapen by the wind off the ocean, but still very much alive and beautiful in it’s own way. Now that I think about it, that describes all of us.
