I had a few errands to run in the village yesterday and was planning on parking the car and walking. When I looked at the thermometer on my phone and in my car and they both said 93 degrees, I gave up on that idea and moved my car to each stop. That probably took longer than walking, but it was much more comfortable. One of my stops was a the Saugerties village diner. I don’t know how long the bird perch has been there, but I had never noticed it before. It has a solar light on top to guide prospective customers into the diner. It’s adorable.
Fresh pears block. This one was difficult. There were several rectangles that were only a quarter inch different in measurement and twice I sewed them wrong, which meant taking out the cutting board, ruler and rotary cutter and recutting rectangles. This block was an exercise in frustration but now that it’s done, I like it.
This block is Grandmother’s quilt and now that I see the picture, I may change the four outside squares as they look kind of faded compared to the other vibrant colors. It’s weird how I can agonize over color choices and finally feel they look fine, but when I see the picture, I wonder what I was thinking when I made that choice. Maybe I should look through my camera at the choices before I cut and sew.
